Welcome to our blog! The Story Behind The Bridal Blueprint 🤍

Hi! We’re Alexandra and Anthony, husband and wife and the two people behind The Bridal Blueprint.

The funny thing is, starting a wedding consulting company was never something we planned to do.

The idea actually started after our own wedding, and a conversation around my parents’ kitchen table.

It Started With Our Own Wedding

When we were planning our wedding, we did what we thought we were supposed to do.

We hired a wedding planner.

Because that's what you do when you're planning a big wedding and don't want to lose your mind… right?

Except as we got further into planning, we realized we were doing most of the legwork ourselves anyway.

We researched and chose our vendors. We communicated with them. We read our own contracts. We created our own floor plan. We kept track of the details and made the decisions.

And on top of that, our venue already included a coordinator who handled the venue-specific pieces of our wedding day… did we know that before booking our planner? No

Was planning still overwhelming sometimes?

Absolutely.

But looking back, we realized we never really needed someone to plan our entire wedding for us.

What we actually needed was someone to say:

“Okay, you did that. Here's what you need to do next.”

And that is a very different thing.

Then a Friend Got Engaged…

Not long after our wedding, one of my friends got engaged.

Around that same time, Anthony and I were talking to my parents about our wedding and everything that had gone into planning it.

The conversation eventually turned to our wedding planner.

We started talking about how, looking back, we really hadn't needed a full-blown wedding planner. Our venue had a coordinator. We had found our vendors ourselves. We had handled our contracts, our floor plan and so many of the details ourselves.

We didn't need someone to do it all for us.

We needed someone to guide us through it.

And suddenly, with another person we care about starting the exact same process, something clicked.

Why Doesn't This Exist?

The more we talked about it, the more we realized there was a gap.

There are full-service wedding planners.

There are venue coordinators.

And then there are thousands of wedding planning checklists online telling every couple to do the exact same things at the exact same time.

But weddings aren't all the same.

A couple planning a wedding 18 months from now doesn't necessarily need the same checklist as someone who starts planning six months out.

A backyard wedding doesn't have the same needs as a ballroom wedding.

A venue that includes catering, rentals and a coordinator creates a completely different planning process than a venue where you're bringing everything in yourself.

Even the vendors you've chosen can completely change what you need to do next.

So how could one generic checklist possibly work for everyone?

It can't.

And that was the problem we couldn't stop thinking about.

What If There Was Something in Between?

We started talking about what we wished we had while planning our wedding.

Not another person making our decisions.

Not someone taking over the planning.

And definitely not another 100-item checklist downloaded from the internet where half of it didn't even apply to us.

We wished we had someone who could look at our actual wedding; our venue, our vendors, our timeline, what we had already completed, how far away the wedding was, and tell us what we needed to focus on next.

Someone we could go to when we had a question.

Someone who could look over a contract with us.

Someone who could catch something we hadn't thought about.

Someone who understood the logistics but still let the wedding be completely ours.

Basically, we wanted a wedding planning consultant.

The only problem?

We couldn't really find one.

So Anthony and I looked at each other and thought…

Why don't we create it?

And Just Like That… The Bridal Blueprint Was Born

Once the idea clicked, we knew we were onto something.

Within 24 hours, The Bridal Blueprint was created and we got straight to work. We started taking everything we had learned from planning our own wedding and figuring out how we could turn it into something genuinely helpful for other couples.

It came together so quickly because it was something we immediately felt passionate about. We knew firsthand what had been missing from our own planning experience.

We didn't need someone to plan our wedding for us. We just needed someone to help guide us through it.

We needed a blueprint.

And once we realized that, the name felt pretty perfect.

And Now We're Here

What started as a conversation with my parents about our own wedding turned into something neither of us expected.

And honestly, that's part of what makes The Bridal Blueprint so special to us.

It wasn't a business idea we went searching for.

It came from something we genuinely wished we'd had ourselves.

So that's our story, or at least the beginning of it.

And through this blog, we're going to share a lot of what we've learned along the way: the things nobody tells you, the questions you don't know you should be asking, the details that actually matter and probably a few things we wish we could go back and tell our newly engaged selves.

If you're planning your own wedding too, welcome.

We're Alexandra & Anthony, and this is The Bridal Blueprint. 🤍
